What the map shows
The map covers 2,065 ports and 28 maritime chokepoints. A marker on a port or chokepoint gives the highest severity among its current signals and the number of those signals.
A signal stays on the map until its expiry time. Horizon shows current signals only and keeps no public history of past ones.
Horizon does not rate a port as normal or disrupted. A port without a marker has no current signal in the sources Ekho Labs collects for it.

Coverage differs by port
Ekho Labs collects more sources for some regions and port types than for others. A quiet port on the map can be a port with few sources, so the absence of a marker is not a statement about its operations.
A signal appears on Horizon only when the terms of its source allow Ekho Labs to show it. The attribution page lists the credits those sources require.

Corrections and contact
A reader who finds a wrong or outdated signal can write to contact@ekholabs.com with the port or chokepoint and the signal. Ekho Labs reviews every report it receives and corrects the map when the source supports the change.
